High school hit with cyberbullying lists
Some students at a Halifax-area high school say they're victims of a new type of cyberbullying involving lists of students circulated on smartphones.
Students at Auburn Drive High School in Cole Harbour, N.S., have been receiving lists of students' names under such headings as the 'Good Sex List' and the 'Dirty Girl List.'
Each list encourages recipients to add new names and then to forward it to others.
"I was on the Dirty Girl List. It was really stupid. They didn't even spell my name right," said Brook-Lynne Cote, a Grade 11 student at nearby Cole Harbour District High School.

Fake school shooting a good lesson
LONDON, Ont. - A Fanshawe College residence was a scene of bloody carnage on Friday morning with bullet-riddled corpses strewn in the corridors and dozens of injured being carried away.
It was all fake - a very realistic exercise designed to train students and emergency workers to handle a real tragedy.
Exercise Peregrine, named for the residence where it takes place, involved a hypothetical scenario where a gunman walks in and start firing at students - a scenario similar to the Virginia Tech or Ecole Polytechnique tragedies.
The situation was made as real as possible with bloody makeup, shell casings, fake shattered glass and the smell of gunpowder.
A gym was turned into a makeshift triage centre and a security perimeter was set up around the campus.

Student dies after explosion at Ottawa high school
An 18-year-old high school student from the Ottawa area has succumbed to injuries he suffered from an explosion in his auto-shop class on Thursday morning.
Eric Leighton died in hospital hours after the blast. He had been in critical condition after paramedics found him at the site.
The incident is being investigated by the Ottawa Police Service and the city's fire services.
Once word of his death spread, students gathered to mourn Leighton outside Mother Teresa Catholic High School, where the explosion occurred. They described him as a popular Grade 12 student and an athlete who played lacrosse and hockey.
Paramedics spokesman J.P. Trottier said Leighton was not breathing and had no pulse when emergency workers arrived at the scene. But they managed to resuscitate him by the time he arrived in hospital.
